Keep contact codes easy to scan

A vCard is plain text, and every field makes the QR code denser. Four people with seven fields each in the example come out around version 9 to 11 (53–61 modules across). On a business card, give the code at least 2.5 cm, or leave out the website if everyone shares the same one.

Choose "File names from: Last" plus a prefix like card- to get files your designer can drop straight into a data-merge template in InDesign, Affinity or Canva.

Static vCard codes can't be edited after printing. If job titles change often, encode a link to each person's profile page instead, using the bulk QR generator with a URL template.

What is a vCard QR code?

A QR code containing a vCard (the .vcf contact format). Scanning it opens "Add contact" with the name, phone, email, company and website already filled in. It works offline because the details are in the code itself.

Can I make business-card QR codes for a whole team?

Yes. Export your staff list as CSV or Excel with columns like First name, Last name, Email, Phone, and map each column in step 1. You get one QR per person, named from any column you choose.

Why is my vCard QR code so dense?

Every field adds characters. A full vCard can make a version 10+ code with small modules. Print it at least 2.5 cm wide, or drop fields you do not need.

Which vCard version is used?

vCard 3.0, which iOS, Android, Outlook and Google Contacts all read. Commas and semicolons are escaped for you.
